Performance at the Spring!!!

No time to post for last whole week cause of practises.....

Anyway, yesterday was the performance day at the Spring.

I didn't went for the afternoon 1(2-4pm) cause i'm busy.

But i did went for the night 1( 7.30-10pm).

How's the performance?

Well..... It was the BEST perfomance i've ever joined.

WOW! The G-5 were absolutely faboulous!

Eugene was just AMAZING!

When we 1st began, there seem to be only a

countable amout of people watching.

Then, when Eugene went on stage,

all the people in Spring seem to be gathering around us!

Man, i wish i have the attracting ability that he posesses.

Other than him, Morgan was electrifying!

All of his piano solo seem to be PERFECT!

The MC of the night, Christian was not bad either.

He pulled out great stuff since he only had

2 days to practice cause he just came back from Australia.

Bryan was awesome.

His clarinet was so nice.

The drummer, what's his name again? I forgot 2 ask.

He was very good considering the fact that

he didn't have time 2 learn the last piece

and it was the 1st time he played it.

So much for the G-5, about the 3 clarinetist.

Bryan, he's the best among the 3 of them.

Jordan, he's fabulous!

Camillus, he awe-inspiring!

He played a solo piece dedicated to his parents cause

it was their anniversary.(oh, how sweet of Camillus)

At the end, he even shouted "Daddy Mummy, I LOVE U!!!"

Now finally, about our performance.

Our group consist of 1 pianist, 2 flutist and 2 saxophonist.

Samuel was our pianist.

Joshua was our 1st flutist.

Beatrice was our 2nd flutist.

Philip was our 1st saxophonist.

And i'm the 2nd saxophonist.

Our performance was about perfect.
But in the midst of the seniors and pros,

we seem like.......(u know what)

The other groups played with background music

and they copy music from the Net or books.

But we wrote our piece ourselves!

And we had no background music.

So we were the umm..... not so good ones.

Anyway, it was a fun and interesting night.

I really missed it.

I hoped that we would be able to perform with

each other again.
Here are some pics we took at the Spring:

Band Performance at The Boulevard!

Tonight, we had a band performance at Boulevard.
To me, it was a total success!
It was quite fun and enjoyable.
If I got the chance to join St. Joseph school band again,
I will definitely join.
One of the interesting thing that happened is when Waie had his solo part,
All the girls started to shout "Waie! Waie!"
To tell u the truth, it was funny.
Waie sure does have a lot of fans....
(at least i think he got more fans than Timothy)
We perform about 16 pieces.
But then, they said that we need to perform once more
because we were asked to perform for 2 hours.
So, in the end, we finished at about 10.15 pm.
I wanted to join the performance at Boulevard on 24 dec 08,
but my parents won't allow.
So, finally, I didn't went to the performance rehearsal.
Wariq also decided not to join.
Well, that's all for tonight................

Performance Night At The Boulevard!

Tonight will be the night St. Joseph School Band performing at the Boulevard.

I'm joining them tonight so i feel excited and nervous at the same time.

This morning, we had a rehearsal at Boulevard.

It was okay......

After the rehearsal, one of the organisers, Mr. Gary,

ask Wariq and i to perform on 24th Dec 08.

i was shocked.

Ok, so this guy wants me to perform another time with another group at Boulevard?!!

i said i'll think about it.

I told him that i may not be able to attend the practises and performance.

That's because i still hav practises for the performance

at the Spring on 27th Dec 08.

He said that i don't need to worry about transportation problem.

He says that he can pick me up.

He also added that tonight, there will be a rehearsal.

If the rehearsal went well, we don't need to rehearse again.

I told him that i'll think about it.

Then, i thought of something.

I ask him whether he needs a guitarist or drummers or other musicians

He said that he needed a few other types of instruments playng.

So, i recomended him to Jackson Lim and his band, the e-clips.

I ask Gary to call Jackson and when he heard Jackson's voice,

he recognises him because they met each other at Banditogether 2008.

Gary ask Jackson where he is and surprisingly, he is in Boulevard!

Jackson come out to the main entrance and they started to discuss about the performance.

Jackson says that his band bass guitarist(which is han lun) is in KL.

Gary said that they need a bass guitarist.

So, Jackson phoned a few of his band members and friends.

Then....................

I didn't know what happened.

My dad was already there to pick me up.

Well, tonight, i guess it will be an exciting night.
Here are some of the pics of our performance:

The band was conducted by Jason Yeo, an ex-josephian.

Samuel's Birthday Party!!!

Last Saturday(13 Dec 08) was Samuel's Birthday.

He invited nearly all the performers of to his birthday party.

Well, most of the people arrived there by 3pm except for me......

That's b'cause i was having band practises.

Anyway, the party was quite fun.

By the time i arrive at Sam's house(which is 5.30pm),

they were all waiting for me to have dinner.

I felt uneasy cause everyone had been waiting for about half an hour to have their dinner.

That night, we played different types of games, played music pieces, etc.....

Some of us were playing card games, others played the piano.

Sam had his birthday cake cutted at the balcony.

His house has a wide balcony which we can only go up through the other flight of stairs

He was pretty darn close to have his face ended up inside the cake!
However, his cat-like reaction prevented that to happen.

Letitia went back home earlier than the others because she had to attend chruch.

Most of us went home at about 9pm.

This is Samuel, the birthday boy, cutting his 16th birthday cake.

This is the picture we took at Sam,s balcony.

Band Practises

I've been joining St. Joseph school band for practises for almost two weeks.
Tomorrow will be the performance night for the band.
We will be performing Christmas songs at the Boulevard from 7-9pm.
The first time I've practice with St. Joseph school band was about 4 weeks ago.
Back then, we were practising for the Avant Garde Charity Concert.
My first impression about the band is THEY' GREAT!
They have quite a good co-operation back then.
They're about 10 times better than my school's scout band.
(for anyone from Kuching High who is reading this, no offense! N pls don't tell the school teachers!)
But what I've said is quite true.
1st of all, St. Joseph school band can produce extremely good tone.
Unlike my school band, the only music they can praduce is out-of-tune noise!
2ndly, St.Joe school band have good co-ordinaton.
They can balance their instrument's sound with other instruments.
3rd, they're all have dedication to their music.
However, St. Joe school band still have some parts where they are worst than my school's scout band.
After Avant Garde Charity Concert, I joined them for the performance at the Boulevard.
I wanted to gain more experience
since my school's scout band doesn't allow non-scout members to join the band.
So when the band is at their school practising, they umm....began to show their real attitudes.
Why?
Cause everywhere I go, i see people playing......................................
....................................RUBIC CUBES!
There are so many CUBE FREAKS there!
WAIE, the cubes cubes cubes guy,
he's a non-stop talking duck!
Whenever we're having practises, he always seems to be so bluuur.
Then, there's the cube king in the band, ANAD
The way and speed he finish the cube is amazing!
Then, there's this new cube learner,
the so-called "Professional"
...........................................................
Jeffrey Mark "Professional" Law
He is a typical and sort of too musically talented guy.
He loves to talk
and talk
and most of all,
he loves to............
........bullshit!
He always claim that he is the most professional poker player.(boooo!)
Although he is so annoying, there's 1 thing i don't understand.
WHY does he call Sabastian a dog?!!
Well... i can understand if people call Waie a duck,
cause he has nearly all the qualities of a real duck.
He always talk a lot and most important feature of all,
he....................................................................looks like a duck!!!
But, why does Jeffery calls sabastian a dog?
hmm....i guess i will never know(and no one will know anyway)
But the best reason i can think of is.............
his "over-proffesional" mind is out of control.
To anyone who reads this, this is just a joke.
So don't take it too seriously^^

Omens of Love

Alexander's Ragtime Band

Kuching High School Got Burned Down?!!

On 2nd Dec 08,

a very unfortunate thing happened.

SMK Kuching High was burned down!

At 'bout 1-2 pm, a fire started at the junior science lab.

Then, slowly, the fire began to spread out n burn down the teachers' staff room.

Well, i don't think i can put this event in words.

If i were to describe the scene back then, i'll say that it looks like shit!

But words don't tell a lot.

So look at the following picture to understand better.
This is the teachers' staffroom.

This is the junior science lab.

What A Great Holiday!!!

Wow! This hols is really proving to be an exciting one. Many things happened during this period of time!

1st:
The Avant Garde Charity Concert was held on 29th December 08. I was performing 3 times that
night! Don't get overexcited, cause it's not a solo performance(thank goodness), it's a group
performance! Man, it's a scary and nervous night! If i do something wrong then, i'm dead!(Or that's what
Mr. Ant says) Anyway, I've somehow managed to do everything right that night. However......when our
group was performing , something went wrong with the speaker system! The music beat was too
soft! It was disastrous! Two of our keyboardist(Sam n Jolynn) were so nervous(that's what they say after
the performance!) Luckily, we still managed to pull out gret stuff. As for the other two performances, it
was 99%, no,100% perfect! St. Joseph school band n Greenroad school band was Terrific! <Gonna
Fly Now> sounded just like the original version(maybe, maybe not). But..... in , the
Tomorrow> the little kids that are singing sang so badly out if tune that if not for the good music that we
play, no one would hav enjoyed it!(just kidding, to anyone who reads this: no offense. Don't sue me when u read this!) Anyway, i would like to thank everyone who has participated in this concert.
